SOY DEVILED EGGS (check out the reel here)
These delicious little wonders are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. Unlike traditional deviled eggs, these are marinated in a savory soy sauce before assembling which adds an extra layer of flavor. The creamy filling is made up of yolks, mayo, mustard, vinegar, and a bit of chili oil for a little heat. The slightly tangy filling perfectly complements the seasoned egg whites. I love adding extra chili crisp and spicy tuna for a fun flair. Make extras of these little guys because they’re gonna go fast!

OVALTINE RICE KRISPIE TREATS (IG reel will be out later this month)
These Ovaltine rice krispie treats are inspired by lunches with at Hong Kong-style cafes. One of the most popular drinks served at these cafes is Ovaltine, often served with a bit of condensed milk for extra creaminess. If you’ve never tried Ovaltine, it’s a drink mix that has a rich, malty sweetness with hints of chocolate. It’s a nostalgic drink for me and reminds me of family outings during my childhood. Best part is that this fun snack is incredibly easy to put together. You’ll need all the usual suspects for rice krispie treats plus two extras: butter, marshmallows, rice krispies cereal, Ovaltine mix, and condensed milk for drizzling at the end. These are adult and child approved so you definitely need to make this for your next party!

Serves 4-6 (as a light bite)
Ingredients:
10 oz marshmallows
6 tbsp unsalted butter
6 cups rice krispie cereal
1 cup Ovaltine mix
Condensed milk, for drizzling
Method:
When you’re ready to start, prepare all your ingredients and set aside. Everything will come together quickly.
In a large pot on medium low heat, add butter. Using a spatula, stir to melt.
Add Ovaltine mix and stir well until fully mixed.
Add marshmallow and stir well as it melts. Do not overmix.
Remove pot from heat.
Add in Rice Krispies cereal. Mix well to incorporate everything.
Add everything to a parchment paper lined 8x8 baking dish. Press down and evenly spread onto dish. Cut into squares. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
To shape into onigiri, add to mold and gently shape each one. Place on parchment paper while you finish the rest.
